So I’ve been dabbling with game art for a little while now, and recently I’ve decided to start a little personal project, codenamed “Pixel Bel”. It’s a retro styled beat ‘em up game starring no other than my character Bel.

But who the hell is she, you ask? Stay a while and listen, I’ll explain it all after you click on “read more”.

“Who’s this ‘Bel’ girl, after all?”

Short answer, Bel is a succubus I’ve been drawing for quite a while now and my first mascot girl. If I remember correctly, I made her back in 2006 or 2007, and her design has since varied and evolved as much as my drawing style and skills. Cursed to survive by mating with man, monster and demon alike, I plan to one day write at least strips starring her, and if time allows a 4 part comic series some time shortly after finishing this project.  ”So Pixel Bel is a sex game?”

No. Why? Because sex games suck. Seriously, the day I find a formula that balances fun gameplay with rewarding fap material in an elegant, non “complete this boring challenge to see something you can see for free elsewhere” way I’ll write all about it, make stuff like it and share the recipe with the whole world. This game, maybe I’ll manage to put in a nip-slip or secret easter egg just for the fun of it. Don’t know just yet. The objective is not only to practice my skills in a style of art I really like, but to make something fun (if you like this kind of game) and sexy to look at.

And now that you know what this is all about, here’s the art’s current progress! Included, in order: stand cycle, jump, walk cycle, defensive skill, melee 3 hit combo, ranged attack.
